Be Still and Know

Not only are we quickly approaching the most wonderful time of the year, but it is also one of the busiest times of the year. It’s so easy to get caught up in all of the holiday shopping and festivities that we forget to take time to breathe and savor the moments.

It’s times like these that I am reminded of Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

We all need to take time to pause… especially me. I love a good, busy holiday season! lol! As you go through your normal day, take time to just listen. Tonight when you lay down, instead of going through your tasks for tomorrow or your laundry list of prayers, make time to lie in the silence and open your heart to God. Yes, there is a time to petition God for your prayers but sometimes we need to just listen. Let him fill you heart and mind with His thoughts, His comforts, and His love. Don’t lie there and re-live endlessly rewinds of the days’ events. Be still and let God reveal Himself.

Let God rejuvenate your soul. You will be a better friend, co-worker, wife, and/or mother.

We are stronger and more effective when we are quiet before the Lord.

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

It’s Finally Football!! SEC Y’all!

I don’t know about you but there are few things better than a crisp Fall day and a college football game. Down here in Georgia, not much can compare to the SEC!

We wait patiently through Spring and Summer but when the weather starts to cool down, we get excited! My man treats opening day of SEC like it should be a national holiday. He’s been planning and preparing for months. There were a few times (during this crazy pandemic) when he wasn’t sure if college football was going to follow through with the commitment….but….it’s here!

I know some of you may not be football fans….and that’s ok. But for me, it’s more than just a game. It’s a time to bond with my man, to share in the things that he loves. It’s also a time to invite family and friends over, cook some food, and have a great time. We can get together and cheer on our team or engage in friendly rivalry. Either way, it’s a great opportunity to connect with the people we care about.

So…during this football season, take advantage and reach out to friends and family….have a family night….throw some food on the grill with friends…enjoy each other!

Oh yeah…..Go DAWGS!!

It’s Fall Y’all!

I love this time of the year!  The leaves are changing, the weather is changing and football is in the air!   Down here in Georgia, we love football!   Preferably the SEC!

I know things have been a little crazy and a lot different this year, but that’s all the more reason to do the things you love and make every moment a little extra special.

This time of year really inspires me to get crafting and sewing!  I have so many projects that I want to do! I don’t know about you but my list is long and is growing everyday. lol!

One of the things that I have already been working on are Fall mugs. These are simple mugs that anyone can put together.   They’re nothing fancy and very easy to make. All I did was pull out the ol’Cricut, cut out some decals and put them on a couple of mugs.  They turned out so cute!

If you would like to make some, but don’t have a cutting machine, send me a message and I’ll be glad to cut some out for you!

Pray, Pray, and then Pray some more!

How many times have you heard someone say (or said it yourself), “when all else fails….Pray!”   Prayer should always be what we do first in any circumstance.   Giving everything over to God should always be our first line of defense.  He stands waiting to hear from us.  Prayer and obedience are our most powerful tools in spiritual warfare!

Yes… He already knows the situation.

Yes… he already knows your pain. 

And Yes…He still wants to hear your precious voice reaching out to Him in total surrender.

Our heavenly Father knows the battles we face and he so lovingly supplies everything we need to stand strong and overcome.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
