Not only are we quickly approaching the most wonderful time of the year, but it is also one of the busiest times of the year. It’s so easy to get caught up in all of the holiday shopping and festivities that we forget to take time to breathe and savor the moments.
It’s times like these that I am reminded of Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.”
We all need to take time to pause… especially me. I love a good, busy holiday season! lol! As you go through your normal day, take time to just listen. Tonight when you lay down, instead of going through your tasks for tomorrow or your laundry list of prayers, make time to lie in the silence and open your heart to God. Yes, there is a time to petition God for your prayers but sometimes we need to just listen. Let him fill you heart and mind with His thoughts, His comforts, and His love. Don’t lie there and re-live endlessly rewinds of the days’ events. Be still and let God reveal Himself.
Let God rejuvenate your soul. You will be a better friend, co-worker, wife, and/or mother.
We are stronger and more effective when we are quiet before the Lord.
